The short answer is…yes. Kind of. I mean I was. Actually, there is no short answer.
Let’s go back to the beginning - way back. Sixteen years ago, in my home town of Tucson, AZ. Picture if you will, a gawky middle-schooler with more interest in cartoons than boys. A scrawny, scraggly girl with a…

Star Wars. Because it’s okay to have just one woman in your universe.

There’s more brown girls in this drawing than in all of star wars. Shit. There’s more brown girls in this drawing than brown people in all of star wars.

When we were kids, we would sing
I saw your mom
She opened up her legs
And said “Come on”
It was so hairy
Big, fat and scary!
I saw your mom
Harley Quinn and batgirl are the only ones I respect here because they aren’t just walking tits with no personality like 97% of DC women
Yeah, you obviously know what you’re talking about.
You know, I never did get what having “no personality” means. All of these women have well-thought out characterizations
(at least pre-DCnU)with likeable aspects of their personalities. Selina Kyle (Catwoman) and Karen Starr (Power Girl) are bold, ooze self-confidence and don’t apologize for being completely themselves. Dinah Lance (Black Canary) is tough-as-nails and yet she’s kind and nurturing as a mother figure to several other heroes. Pamela Isley (Poison Ivy), while typically cast as a cold “villain”, has a softer side; she is passionate about the earth and connects with it, and even took care of some of Gotham’s children once. Kimiyo Hoshi (Dr.Light) is a brilliant scientist to the point of arrogance at times, but she is selfless enough to use her acquired powers for good. Kara Zor-El started out like Superman himself, unsure of her place in the world, but she always kept on trying despite initial mistakes.
Diana of Themyscira (Wonder Woman)…oh god, she has no personality at all, this one. It must be because she is one of the most loving, compassionate and empathetic characters ever. She’s not just a butt-kicking badass Amazon princess; one of her greatest weapons isn’t just her fists, but her skill with diplomacy. She has such zero personality that Batman, that’s right, BATMAN, once said that everyone loves her, because it’s what she inspires in others when they meet her.
Basically, I’m sorry that you can’t look past these ladies’ bodies and your objectification of them as “walking tits” to truly see how they work inside. Just because they’re not as covered up as Batgirl and Harley Quinn, it doesn’t devalue their worth.
the most beautiful thing I’ve watched today ^^
Crayon Dragon, by California Institute of the Arts student Toniko Pantoja.
wonder woman? and bat woman? IF THIS IS A TEAM-UP I WILL LOSE MY FANGIRL MIND!
you know, there were several media responses to this video calling it “racy” and even comparing it to porn. the youtube comments are mostly people calling her trashy and guys boasting that they’re getting off to it
the video consists of nicki minaj doing tame cute dances in a few different swimsuits on a beach (quite possibly a callback to her childhood; the ethnic makeup of the backup dancers reminded me of trinidad)
which just goes to show you that black women are coded and read as hyper-sexual, always, and lord help a black woman who wants to wear a damn bikini on a beach — she can’t be cute or have fun, she’s being “pornographic”
